What we do
MPower! is a community-first organisation providing life-saving services in Mauritius and building a secure future for all.
Legal Advice and Literacy
Our empanelled lawyers provide free consultations to women regarding their legal rights and options and support them during their legal proceedings. We also provide limited financial support for legal expenses through our partners
Assistance with Authorities
When a survivor decides to report any violence she has faced to the police, we intervene to ensure that the case is properly reported, and timely action is taken by appropriate authorities
Capacity building and sensitisation
Individual career counselling and appropriate vocational training programs, external placement agencies and employment avenues. We offer limited financial support for vocational training and small loans to survivors who wish to start or expand their businesses through our partners
Rehabilitation and Sheltering
While we do not run a shelter home, we refer women and their children to shelter homes run by our collaborators who are shelter home providers as and when required
Research and Development
Undertaking research projects on all aspects of women, gender and children's rights and responsibilities for agencies, donors and organizations
Consulting and Advisory Services
Consulting and advisory services for corporate gender programs to stakeholders helping improve a dignified and respectful existence
